Foster Care Fortnight 2026

Foster Care Fortnight is the UK’s biggest awareness raising campaign for fostering. #FCF26 will run from Monday 11 May – Sunday 24 May and the theme this year is ‘This is Fostering’, celebrating and raising awareness of the different stories across the fostering community.

Foster for Lancashire

This year’s Foster Care Fortnight theme shines a light on the everyday realities of fostering, raising awareness of the profound impact foster carers have on children’s lives. It celebrates the skills, commitment and love they show, often in incredibly challenging circumstances. Across Lancashire, children of all ages, from tiny babies to growing teens, are waiting for someone to share those special moments with. Could that be you?

Get in touch

Foster carers are urgently needed to provide safe, nurturing homes for children for however long the need it - whether for a night, a few months, or several years. We are looking for people who can foster all ages of children, particularly siblings who need to stay together and teenagers. No formal experience or qualifications are needed, all we ask is that you have a spare room available and a desire to make a difference to a local child's life. Complete our enquiry form or call 0300 019 0200.

Meet the team

We'd love to know more about you and how you can support a child.

Find out how you can make a positive difference to a local child and meet our fostering team at one of our information or community events.

There is no typical foster carer – we need people with stability, love and resourcefulness who can help a child with whatever needs they may have.

We welcome applications from all parts of our diverse Lancashire community. Whatever your race, gender, sexuality, living arrangements, faith, age and employment status we want to hear from you. You'll need to be over 21, and living in or close to Lancashire.

Over the fortnight, we’ll be celebrating our Lancashire foster carers who have opened their homes to provide love, stability, and care to children and young people in need. Follow #FCF26 and #FosterWithUsLancs on our @lancashirecc social media channels during the fortnight for updates.
